The BATA Director of Flight Operations Group is composed of the Directors of Flight Operations of the different BATA members. Its main aim is to come up with a common standpoint in regard to all matters that relate to flight operations, and to defend this standpoint towards the other stakeholders. As such an important part of the activities is related to matters that are connected with regulations and legislation.

The introduction of EU OPS Subpart Q is a good example of a piece of legislation that had the greatest attention of the group. Besides this main goal, the group is a very useful forum in which issues are debated that are of common interest to the different airlines, such as training & recruitment, salary benchmarking etc.

The group meets at least 4 times a year, however when the need dictates a more frequent meeting pattern is in place.
